Christina Gentile, MA, RCT, CCS
Christina is a Registered Counselling Therapist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor-Supervisor. She received her BFA in Music with a Minor in Religious Studies from Concordia University and holds a MA in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria. Having lived and traveled around the world, she brings an international lens to her counselling practice. She also speaks French and German fluently.
Christina’s approach is holistic, strength-based, and trauma informed. She draws from various modalities including Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Focusing, mindfulness-based practices, dialectical behavior therapy, as well as music and art-based methods. She has extensive training in the areas of eating disorders, body image concerns, domestic violence, anxiety, life transitions, and grief and loss. She brings a warm-hearted approach to counselling with a deep respect for the integrity of the individual and their social and environmental context.
Christina is also a voice coach and a certified yoga teacher with a personal practice in meditation and pranayama. She is honoured to be living and working on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

Along with clinical therapy, David is the counselling centre’s intake coordinator and case manager. Case management appointments are primarily for resource navigation both on an off campus. She helps students clarify their values and build psychological flexibility to support safety, agency, and meaningful engagement in their lives.
Christina has a background in supporting individuals impacted by trauma, substance use, and intimate partner violence. Her integrative approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Polyvagal Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), allowing her to attend to both emotional and physiological experiences of distress while fostering insight, regulation, and connection.
Christina’s work is deeply informed by trainings in Afrocentric, queer-affirming, and agriculture informed therapeutic frameworks, which emphasize the importance of cultural identity, community, and lived experience in healing. She strives to create an affirming space where students can explore intersecting identities, challenge internalized narratives, and reconnect with sources of strength.
